Oral Presentation Reflection CAA 25/11/17 (Portfolio FINAL)

On 16th November 2017, my group, The Solution presented the proposal to improve the energy consumption in Singapore. This presentation gauges my current presentation skill on how well I am capable of explaining the content of the proposal to the audience. It is one of many presentations that I am going to have throughout my university journey. Therefore, I need to assess and reflect on my performance of the presentation to further improve my presentation skill.

It is essential to identify the strength of my presentation so that I could maintain the same standard for my future presentations. During my polytechnic days, I learned that it is important to prepare for the presentation. As such, I prepared myself by practising to present in front of the mirror before the actual presentation so that I could to deliver the content to the audience smoothly. Therefore, I feel that investing time and effort to prepare for a presentation benefits me by building confidence in myself to deliver and provide accurate information to the audience.

Other than identifying my strength, it is rather important that I know what are my weaknesses so that I could improve on them. I learned from my peers’ comment that I could not link the whole presentation in the conclusion. In order to improve this aspect, I believe that more discussion with my teammates about the flow of the presentation will certainly improve the overall performance of the entire presentation.

In conclusion, I feel that the presentation can be further improved by doing more rehearsal with my teammates. Through the rehearsal, we could find out whether the content of the presentation had a smooth flow. Furthermore, it can also prevent confusing the audience with inconsistency content. Overall, I am honoured to have the opportunity to do the presentation of the proposal with my teammates.
